American Girl Doll Video of the Week

Every Friday I will post a American Girl video of the week.

The first video is from Stephenswodadancer. She is absolutely my daughter's favorite You Tube American Girl You Tube poster. This girl has 268 videos, so choosing one is difficult, but in the end, I chose one of her tutorials. She is better than most at showing how to do different things to and with your dolls.

In the end I chose one of her hairstyle tutorials

Whose videos do you like to watch on YouTube?

Focus on Another Blog

Every Wednesday, I am going to provide you with a link to a site that talks about American Girl dolls.

Toady's site is I Love American Girl, it is one that my daughter has bookmarked. It's obviously written by a girl, and I can really appreciate her enthusiasm.

What's your favorite American Girl blog to visit?

American Girl Craft: Julie-centric

This is my 9 year old daughter's second summer at home. I like to keep my daughter occupied. It's sort of a weird thing I have about over scheduling time. One of the time occupiers I have developed for this summer are weekly themes. Two of the weeks are dedicated to two of favorite American Girl dolls.

. The daughter looooooves her Julie doll. And I am reasonably excited for her to have a doll that I know SOMETHING about her lifestyle, having lived through it. For the Julie week craft, we are going to make Tie Dye Paper

This image and a really easy tutorial can be found on Joy in the Everyday.

When you schedule your Emily Rose @ Home party, this would be a very easy and fun activity to add to keep the daughters busy while moms are looking at all of the great Emily Rose @ Home clothing and furniture.

American Girl Warehouse Sale

Have you ever been to this event?
It benefits the Madison (WI) Children's Museum....and it's all kinds of insane.
I had the opportunity to attend last night and oh my goodness. Historical dolls for $65. Books for a $1. The child is now the proud owner of an Emily and a Felicity. And about a thousand books.

Let me know if you have attended, and what you thought of the event.

Do you want to do this too?

Emily Rose @ Home is opening the opportunity for others to join our leagues.
It is NOT a MLM. Cause really, if it was I wouldn't be doing it.
The owner of this company is ALL about the girl power. She has some pretty spot on business savy, and those without a business background will learn a thing or seven from her.

What do you need to do? Go this link and sign-up to receive the information.

When this opened last summer, the spots filled within 2 hours. So hop on it.

How could I have not posted this?

Emily Rose @ Home has a contest last month (to win new catalogs - and I wanted the new catalogs!). We were to create a testimonial for the @ Home business. And since Peyton is an important part of the business....

A great little thing for a Saturday

Bopping about on Living Locurto, and came across some really aesthetically pleasing paper dolls.

The printable can be found on How About Orange. Great suggestion from Living Locurto - print them on magnet sheets and play with them on the fridge. The daughter likes to play with paper dolls WITH her dolls...as if her dolls are playing with the paper dolls. Because, well, apparently that is important, that her dolls have something to play with....

Oh.My.Goodness.

I just came across this on the Raising American Girls blog. 18" doll fur lined boots. Whoo hooo!

My daughter is going to be soooooooo excited when we (and by we I mean my mother and my daughter) figure out how to make these...tiny NOT UGG boots for her dolls. Lisa Marie found the direction at Fun In My Backyard. Try and tell me they are not the most precisious thing you have seen. Today.

Thinking about this crafting. Please keep in mind that when you arrange for your party, we can consider an easy craft for your daughter and her friends to make for their dolls while the moms are shopping!

Emily Rose Doll Clothes Blog

Lisa Marie, the owner of Emily Rose Doll Clothes, has re-started up her blog for the company. You can see it at Raising American Girls. her daughter, the companies namesake, Emily Rose, is obviously quite involved. Which I find to be quite lovely. I really adore how involved Lisa Marie has her daughter with the whole company.

Emily Rose posted a video today running a contest, that you and your daughter just might want to check out

Post Holiday Fun

My daughter received her Julie doll from Santa, so that brings her up to four American Girl dolls and one Our generation doll. Good on her. She is now saving up her money to buy Kit on Spring Break when we go to Chicago. Ohhh. I don't think I have ever mentioned that the Madame Alexander dolls came into Emily Rose. You cannot get them through the @ home parties...but you can buy them direct from Emily Rose. Fabulous price too. There are five dolls. The link will take you to the Doll named After School Cool.

My daughter loves watching the myriad American Girl videos that are available online. Her favorite thing to watch recently is how girls get the snarls out of the dolls hair. Has anyone tried these potions? Do they work?
